Department Head Ana Zuljevic also serves as the division head for the “Economic Affairs” focus areas within the Economy & Innovation Department in Linz. The team handles all inquiries from the Linz business community, from the initial startup idea through to international exchange.

Participation

Silvia Hackl, division head and deputy department head, and her team at the Pfarrgasse office coordinate the initiatives that have been promoted for the citizens of Linz at the "Innovationshauptplatz" since 2019. The Digital City Studio and the PopUp Store are also located there.

Climate Protection

Dominik Kreil, Climate Coordinator for the City of Linz, works with his team on the city’s climate neutrality plan, industrial transformation initiatives, and the “Linz mit Ambitio3xn” Pioneer City project.

Administration Award 2021 

for the City of Linz's electronic citizen participation platform

In 2021, our department was honoured with the Austrian Public Administration Award for the first time. Our participation platform was recognised in the "Participation and Co-Creation" category. The award was presented online by Vice-Chancellor Werner Kogler - Ana was visibly delighted!

Administration Adward the 2023

for the climate-neutral industrial city of Linz 2040 / concept development through a city-wide elaboration process

In 2023, our former department head Oliver Schrot accepted the Austrian Administration Award for the development of the city's climate neutrality concept. The Linz professional fire brigade also received an award this year.

"The teams with the most innovative projects were honoured with trophies and awards. Innovation and participation are key areas of strength in the city of Linz. We are delighted to receive this prestigious award from the Federal Ministry and would first and foremost like to thank the dedicated employees of the professional fire brigade and the climate staff unit, who drive innovative ideas forward on a daily basis. The award for the Climate Task Force encourages Linz to become Austria's climate-neutral industrial city by 2040," says Mayor Klaus Luger, delighted with the awards.

Honour
Administration Award 2025

for the participation workshop "Create your City"

In 2025, we were honoured in the Participation and Co-Creation category for our workshop. More than 860 young people have already taken part in ‘Create your City’ and practised debating as in the municipal council and developing ideas for the city of Linz.

The workshop, which is held regularly in the Old Town Hall in cooperation with the ambassadors from the Ministry of Curiosity and Future Studies, promotes democratic education, critical thinking and a positive image of the future among young people in Linz.

Andreas Buchta-Kadanka, Head of Section III in the Federal Chancellery, presented our team with the award in Vienna on 3 June 2025.
